It was a significant day for Geometric Power Limited and its subsidiaries as they welcomed Nigeria’s former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, who came for a tour of Geometric’s multi-million dollar investment, as well as to commission Aba Power’s new 2 by 15 MVA Ogbor Hill Sub-station.

Recall that in 2005, the Obasanjo-led administration signed a lease agreement with Geometric Power, which was a milestone for Geometric Power’s vision.

After the commissioning of the Ogbor Hill Sub-station, the former president was taken round the Geometric Power Aba Limited’s 141 MegaWatt Power Plant, the Aba Power Headquarters, and the Meter Roll-out Facility.

While giving his speech at the occasion, former President Olusegun Obasanjo thanked the management of Geometric Power and the Abia State governor, Alex Otti, for their unwavering efforts to ensure sufficient power supply and urged them to extend their feet to the entire state.

Also speaking, Governor Alex Otti reflected on his journey with Geometric Power. He appreciated the former President for believing in the vision through by approving a lisence for Geometric Power Limited.

In his overview on the Geometric vision, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Geometric Group, Prof. Bart Nnaji, recounted the achievement of the Geometric Group with the vision of achieving greater heights.

Speaking to our correspondent about the development on the mass metering agenda by APLE, the Managing Director of Aba Power, Ugo Opiegbe, assured that the company has put everything in place to commence the massive roll-out of meters to Aba’s electricity consumers.
