Even before an official statement from the governor, thousands of Abia youths had already taken to the streets, blocking the road in protest.
Governor Alex Otti later reinforced their stance, stating. “We cannot grant you passage through our land to invade our brothers in Rivers State. Allowing such an attack would be a crime against our people. If you must proceed, use the air, but we won’t give you access by road.”
As of this morning, over 100,000 Abia youths have gathered to barricade the road, vowing to resist any attempt by the military to pass through.
