Isuikwuato Lawmaker Dumps PDP for Labour Party, Cites Party Crisis

In a significant political shift, Hon. Lucky Udoka Nweke Johnson, the member representing Isuikwuato State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the Labour Party (LP).

In a letter addressed to the Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ihuoma Emereuwa, Johnson cited deep divisions and polarization within the PDP at both the national and state levels as his primary reason for leaving.

The resignation, dated March 12, was acknowledged by his ward chairman on the same day.

Johnson emphasized that his decision followed thorough consultations with his constituents and was influenced by the “sterling performance” of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti.

He expressed his commitment to the Labour Party and requested due recognition in the House as a member of his new party.
